Indian Institute of Public Policy (IIPP)

Welcome To IIPP

Indian Institute of Public Policy (IIPP) would be an independent non-profit public policy think tank based in Chennai. We provide a platform for in-depth debate and foster strategic and academic communities bringing together policy makers, researchers, business and civil society. The research work at the institute would serve the public at large and be of a high standard in terms of research ethics.

Our Focus Areas

IIPP seeks to contribute to a more vibrant think tank culture in India and in Tamil Nadu (TN). There were so many pressing policy issues which were being unaddressed and there seem to be a lack of research focus on certain areas where it was thought that a public policy think tank would serve a purpose. Addressing this has become a dream for K C Sundaram, the Founder – Managing Trustee of Sundaram Foundation, having experienced a vibrant think tank culture in the EU. Thus this think tank was founded in January 2014 with the initial support from the Sundaram Foundation. IIPP is incorporated as a public charitable trust in Chennai. K C Sundaram, Hari Subramaniam and Poornima Chandra Venkatesh are the founding trustees.
